Stock addicts and TV: ARGHHHHHHHHH!

My parents only watch two things on TV.

1. Very right-wing news/stock channel

2. The Arts channel

Here’s what I don’t understand: why is there an undeniable link between an interest in stock prices and the right wing?!  How does that evolve?  Does wealth automatically translate into conservatism?

For the record, I’m fascinated by stocks.  I follow them all day long.  And I’m a Democrat.
